Thank you for taking the time to visit this website...

This site was created by a few of the many whose lives have been touched by Eric Bjorklund.  Eric is a 41 year old man. He is a husband and doting father of two beautiful children.  Eric came into our lives as a teacher for our children affected by Autism. He bounced, jumped, sang and flew around our homes much like a cartoon character and before we even knew what hit us, our children became engaged and learned from him. He is so much more than an ABA therapist. He became a member of the family. Eric is a rare find in the Autism community. A man who is a million times larger than his stature, he manages to form true and unique bonds with our children, despite the misconceptions that state such bonds are impossible for children with Autism.

Unfortunately for us all, Eric had to tragically retire because he has become too ill to work. He is suffering from a rare genetic disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). It's symptoms are horrific and it is 100% fatal. It is unfathomable to learn that such a larger-than-life, bright young man is facing such a fate. The Autism community has been robbed of a rare and amazing teacher and our families, especially our children, will miss having him in our homes. Eric's colleagues are equally saddened.

Eric has brought so much to our lives and we are attempting to return the favor. While he can never be repaid for what he has given to us, we would like to support him in any way we can. Eric's main goal is to spend his time creating as many memories as possible with his wife and children. Eric takes extreme pride in his home and what he and his wife have accomplished for their family. Unfortunately, he is in danger of losing it because he is unable to work.

Last Spring we had a fundraiser for Eric and his family that was very successful.  We were able to raise approx enough money to help them with their mortgage for two months.  At this time we would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people that made the first fundraiser for Eric and his family a success.  It was through the hard work and dedication of so many of Eric's co-workers and friends that we were able to assist his family through the summer.  Because of your generosity Eric's wife was able to stay home with him throughout the summer and spend quality time with the whole family.

Unfortunately, Eric's condition has become worse.  He has lost a good amount of his vision and quite a bit of his short term memory. He is also now using a cane to walk.  He has a lot of weakness in his muscles and gets tired and fatigued very easily.  He can not drive anymore and becomes startled easily.  His health is deteriorating.

We are trying to coordinate another fundraiser for Eric and his family to assist them with their mounting bills and help them to stay in their home. Anything to reduce some of the stress of this devastating situation.  Details are being worked out now, and more information will be on the website soon.  Thank you again for your love and support. The family appreciates it more than you know.
